Are engagement photos really necessary? When askin

Are engagement photos really necessary? When asking a photographer, the answer is always going to be yes.

Not only are they are a great way for us to get to know each other better, but it gives you both the opportunity to get comfortable being in front of the camera before the big day. Outside of those obvious reasons, it gives you a chance to document your everyday-selves before all the formalities of a wedding.

Before gettin those iconic skyline photos, Kelly & Bryan decided to start their session at the place where they had their first date, Cleo’s (which is a place near and dear to me as well). Making a bar a stop along the way during your session is always a great way to get more comfortable in front of the camera.

So yes, take the engagement photos, make them your own (less cheesy that way) and you won’t regret it.

Hello and Happy November! Just one more week of be

Hello and Happy November! Just one more week of being crazy busy and then a little bit of a break until December. Well, not a real break, just a break from being behind the camera. I will be holed up in my editing cave until Thanksgiving making sure photos are edited and delivered in time for holiday cards. That being said, the calendar is closed for any new bookings until next year.

Things I'm working on this week in the small amount of downtime in between this weeks sessions and weddings --

- Editing, obviously. There is A LOT of it. If you haven't received a sneak peek yet, that's coming this week with updated full gallery delivery times.
- Wedding Albums Designs and Orders. A few album orders have been placed and I'll be following up with anything else that's still outstanding (have a few hours carved tomorrow to tie up those loose ends).
- Emails. While my lovely VA @singervirtualservices is staying on top of the easy stuff, the emails that require a more detailed response from me take some time. I'll be getting through any of those outstanding later in the week.
