Memorial Day weekend is usually a triple header wedding weekend. But like the rest of this season, it’s postponed til later in the year. Despite delayed celebrations, it’s so nice to have some downtime to enjoy the amazing weather we are having in Chicago. Throwing it back to the last time I had Memorial Day weekend off. I can’t believe how little my niece and nephew were!

Even though this whole shelter in place is effecting us all, it’s hard to think outside your own bubble of family and friends. I was immediately brought back to reality when I showed up to Morgan’s Senior session. She had her prom dress on and wanted a few photos in it. Prom was cancelled obviously and this was her only chance to wear it. I’ve been really concerned about my couples and how this is effecting all their wedding day plans. I didn’t even think about Prom being one of the first times you pick out a great dress or tux and get all fancied up for a night! I thought back to my own prom (and my mint green Jessica McClintock dress), senior year and how much fun that last month of school and the summer of graduation parties was. Everyone is missing out on something these days. While it’s a bit of a bummer, it’s a good reminder we’re all in this together. Wishing and hoping for a safe return to normalcy sooner than later. ⠀

December sessions are always bittersweet. It’s t

December sessions are always bittersweet. It’s the end of the year and I’m relieved to know a small break is coming. On the other hand it’s a little sad because I truly do love my job and being behind the camera. Little did I know, I would be getting an extended break this year. I’m so excited that photography restrictions have been lifted slightly so that outdoor session are now allowed! It’s hard to follow social distancing for indoor sessions so those will be shelved for a bit. For now the weather is getting better and it’s perfect timing to get those spring and summer sessions booked. May and June are almost filled! So excited to start get back behind the camera tomorrow. See you all outside! ⠀
