They say rain on your wedding is good luck. If that’s the case, Jen & Dave have a long, happy life ahead of them. They were married on a rainy Chicago day this past May at the Allerton Hotel in downtown Chicago. It was one of the most beautifully unique weddings I’ve ever had the chance to photograph. The Allerton is a gorgeous hotel and Jen, along with Kehoe Designs, did a phenomenal job making it look even better than it already does. Little personal touches of Jen’s Southern charm and Dave’s love of the Big Lebowski were all incorporated too.
Again, HUGE thank you to my friend Liz of Elizabeth Greve Photography for being an awesomely amazing second shooter.
The day started off in the Bridal suite with Jen and her family and bridesmaids getting ready.
As the girls finished up hair and makeup, the guys were downstairs getting ready.
Instead of a first look, Jen & Dave had a quick talk through the door before their ceremony. I’ve seen this a lot on Pinterest, but what I didn’t know was that it’s actually a Southern tradition!
First dance was to They Love Each Other by the Grateful Dead.
Then the dance floor was open!
By the end of the night, it had finally stopped raining. We stepped outside on Michigan Ave to take the final photos of the night.
Jenny & Dave (Chop & Jen), thank you both soooooooo much for having me photograph your wedding. You two are one of the most adorable couples I’ve ever had the pleasure to take pics of. Jen I also think you win the award for smiliest bride ever. Wishing you guys many many years of love and happiness!!
